Smile About to get my first dog

My wife and I have discussed getting a dog for a long time now. I had two cats when we started dating (we've only been married about 6 months now) and we've had a blast with them. I grew up with cats my whole life. My wife had a dog and cats while growing up as well.

This last weekend I surprised her with an early birthday present of a new Weimaraner puppy girl. We've named her Neela. I've always given my pets first and last names. We're still working on her last name. We pick her up on March 20th, 2009 and we're very excited. I know she will be a head-ache and a half for the first few weeks/months during training but we're ready.

I'm new to this site and will hopefully be around a lot more in the future looking for training, grooming and health care advice. Thanks in advance!

p.s. My cats are named Tony Bridgeman and Eva Moore. We are thinking Neela Jenkins for the puppy but haven't decided just yet.

Welcome to the forum, my name is Sarah

Dogs make great pets, you are definitely in for some fun and even more so since you are a first time dog owner. Puppies are hard work but well worth it. How old will she be when you pick her up? I'm also assuming you meant to put 2010... as 2009 was last year Also, Weims are great dogs with TONS of energy. Very cute picture, do you have any recent ones?

Welcome!!!
Oh, getting a new dog/puppy is SO exciting isnt it!?

So why a Weimaraner? Where are you getting her from? Did you want a girl for a specific reason? her name is real cute!

Where is she coming from? like a breeder? or somewhere else?

I'd, actually we'd LOVE to see pics when you get her!!!

Hi

Weimaraners are good dogs, but extremely energetic. Be ready for anything.
