toilet training...confused!!!

hi
i have a 6 month old pug (donut). i am temporarily staying in an apartment. over time he has learnt to do his business on newspaper only.
first thing that i want to know is when he would start having a control on his bladder?

when do dogs normally start relieving themselves only when they go out for walk twice a day?

im shifting to my permanent residence (to a different city) in about 6 months. that is a huge house with good access to back yard. what i want to know is that would i be able to train him (to relieve himself out of the house) when i shift to the new place? he would be one year by then. or should i try to get him off the newspaper habit now itself? but if not the newspaper then where?

plz help with ur suggestions

I would like to add that allowing a dog out to go potty only txice a day will not be enough! Even as adults, most dogs will need to go out a minimum of 4 times daily. Puppies need to go out more often!
Generally people will take their dogs out:
1) after breakfast and/or before owner leaves for work
2) in the afternoon and/or right after owner comes home
3) after dinner
4) right before bed

I think you should start training as soon as possible. You will need to show Donut where to eliminate at the new house, but you shouldn't have to start from scratch.

start training now... the more times you reward him for going in the proper spot the easier it will be

The more training a dog gets, the faster they learn (usually) so I would start training now (and try to go out more htan twice a day if possible)
