We recently got a Great Dane puppy and I am really having a difficult time finding places to socialize her with other dogs. Where we live puppies have to be 6 months old to go to a public dog park (no private dog parks in our area). We have her in obedience class but that’s only once a week and there is only one other dog in the class. I visited a local dog day camp and I just didn’t feel comfortable leaving my puppy there alone. So, here’s the reason for my post. I was thinking about renting a place and creating a private “Puppy Park” and, if it was large enough, I thought I could offer space to trainers to hold classes. I’m just trying to create something for puppy owners that doesn’t exist where we live. I know that all of the puppies would have to have all of their shots and I need to think about expenses (utilities, insurance, an employee, etc.). Does anyone know of a place like this where you live? Am I nuts? Any and all advice and/or suggestions would be so much appreciated.
