Goals for 2010

What are your goals for training and/or competing for 2010?

Mine are to continue training my pup, we are starting Novice Rally next week after we finish up our puppy obedience. We are also doing a second night of classes for puppy agility foundations. The goal is to have her ready to compete in Rally (novice, she'll be 8 months old then) in the end of April. And to have her able to compete in agility fun matches by the end of the summer/fall after she is a year old. Plus I plan on taking her hunting this summer.

Petie, he is 10 yrs old, going to take a few gambling classes (privates) to continue improving upon our Masters Gambling skills and weaving in prep for the regional championships. Also going to enter him in the Rally trial, he'll love it.
Major goals for Petie this year are Top Ten Regional Championships (last year we were 10th, would like to improve upon that), Qualify for Nationals.......go to Nationals in Calgary Alberta. Hope to do there as well.

Get the VPG2 title for Achilles and Abby and compete in some agility as well. It would be the first time for me to be in the ring (of course with dad's help) and I hope I'll do fine.

Learn how to train herding and try my best with Aussie or Rony

I should have stated that is not just for those of us that are competing or wish to compete in a respective field. But also for anyone training their dog on any level and are setting goals.

As we know, setting reasonable goals for training is an excellent way to keep track of how we are progressing and doing (even with those regressions)

Well, it's not training or competing, but: get a dog!!!

My goal is to find a dog this year that fits my lifestyle and doesn't give me panic attacks. I can't go through another Cannon (high energy, high maintenance, reactive, snappy, oi!).

CGC for Riot, maybe even agility or rally. We're moving back to the Austin area next week so I'm hoping to have lots more resources there.

Oh, and start my own dog training business.

CGC for both Chloe and Lucky, and we might try for Therapy Dog for Chloe. I think she could pass with flying colors if we took the test now.

I'd like to get Mikey done his CGC and into the pet therapy course-I do pet therapy at my hospital so he'd be welcome there once done-but I'd really like to hook up with the stollery childrens hospital, as he's soo passionate about children. I'm also hoping our work continues so he can become more confident

I've started clicker training the buns again (well the three that can hear )-Ruperts always been my project bun as he's so food motivated but with his disability there isn't much more he can physically do (He does target, up, hoop and beg)-so I'd like to focus on Kahlua and Noot. Noot will be easy as he's food motivated-but he's very skittish so that's our first project. Kahlua is simple and will only eat three raisins max-so she'll be my hardest bun to work with. I'd like to get working on some real rabbit-agility stuff, and I only have a hoop so I guess my big project is convincing dave to build me some jumps and other obstacles.

By the end of this year, I hope to have Missy's tracking training almost finished.
