dogs do learn through observation, but it is severly lacking. I think most of what you saw was what you wanted to see


perhaps on leash...start far away and see how close you can get without her reacting...she might surprise you and go all the way...if she does then targeting would be a good idea IMO

wow! that is so great! good job! i've been trying to convince a friend of mine to use this sort of process with her dog (that is very slow going...*sigh*) anyway, sorry, OT...
i haven't anything to add, but if i come across anything that i think will help, i'll definitely share... love the target thing too... btw... i have clover target new people in the house... the "intro" time frame from barking to basically making out with new people has shrunk from hours to minutes, and with some people, it has only taken one or two clicks for targeting....

oh and one more thing... i doubt the bow will work with mandy and mikey in the way you plan BUT i think that the way you are doing it may help mandy to associate it with "good doggie" feelings in the future...if that makes sense... like if you give her a treat every time she sees mikey bow? or something along those lines...
