My 2.5 years old poodle /terrier mix who we adopted from the shelter a little over a month ago, is a cutie pie, little awesome guy who won our hearts very quick and easy.
He is fully housebroken. We never had any accidents, until recently.

I was sick in bed, and DH took him for a short walk twice that day when I was in bed. He also tied him up at the yard next to himself, for about two hours, while working in the garage.
That day dog peed twice in my bedroom. I took it lightly because there was a reason why he peed, I didn't give him our usual long walks, I thought.
It was a week ago.

Today I took him for a nice 30 minutes walk, he did all his business many-many times; we came home - he brought a toy for my to play. But I got to my computer to check emails and pay few bills - total 20-25 minutes. When I got up I step right into a fresh puddle of pee. I couldn't believe it, I smelled it and boy it stunk. Why??? What the big idea?
Then later today I found a puddle in the hallway, by the chair, very small - tiny, but very stinky.
He didn;t need to go, he was just brought back home from his second walk.
He is fixed, so I don;t think it is a marking of the territory.
Any ideas?

he peed twice downstairs on the carpet in kids play area, where they usually build legos and lay train rail road. Pew.

P.S. I just have this funny feeling that he wants my constant attention and is bored to death. I take him to three daily long walks, and three times a week to the dog park. I play with him. I bathe him, I brush him, I feed him - I can't put all my spear time for him, though. I have other things to do.

A dog who is fully housebroken who is suddenly having accidents and they are smelly? This screams "Urinary Tract Infection". Make a vet appointment asap.

Oke-dok. Thanks, very helpful, we'll call vet tomorrow.
We are first time dog owners, I am just wondering how other people are keeping up with thr vet costs?
we have jut spent on him around $280 in vet bills, three weeks ago actually. I need to bring my youngest son to the dentist, the cavity was discovered today' I have visited ER myself, biig bill.
When I was little my mom had a dog, but he was outdoor farm fellow, I don't recall him ever going to the vet.

But i rally apprciate the input. I feel so much better knowing that it is possible thaat can be fixed, and ot him being 'funny'.:eyeroll:

Yep our vet bills typically end up on credit when we run out of our vet-fund.. Sam is not even 7 months old and we've already had to spend over $1,000 on her care. That doesn't even include a spay yet! :p

Pet insurance is also always an option as well, but keep in mind they will not cover pre-existing conditions should there be one.

after the UTI clears up (I agree thats what it sounds like) adding cranberry tablets to the food on occasion helps prevent them,as will adding a pet water fountain to encourage the dog to drink more water ( they like moving water better). Also letting the dog out to pee more often can prevent build up of bad bacteria.
