Puppy won't go to the bathroom outside :(

Hi Guys!
My 11 week old puppy refuses to pee/poop outside! He does not go all over the house, but does use the pads, which was very easy to train.
Every time I see him going towards the pad I take him outside and can spend up to an hour there without any success, as soon as we get home he goes on the pad
Please help!

I would try moving the pads closer and closer to the door. Once he will pee on the pad when it is right beside the door take the pad outside. I don't know if this will work or not, but seeing as no one else has responded this is the only thing I can think of for you to try. I have always been anti-pads for this exact reason. Why train a puppy to use a pad inside when you really want it to learn to go outside? Start taking it outside right from the beginning, less confusion for the pup that way, because now he's thinking come on, do you want me to pee inside on the pad or outside. He's only doing what you trained him to do. Give him some time, he'll get it.

I totally agree with shawbulldogs! Excellent advise!

If you have a fenced in backyard, put the pup outside but don't stand out there with him. Put the pad outside. Never let a pup go potty in the house and like what shawbulldogs said.

Remember these simple rules:
After pup wakes up, take outside. After eating and drinking water, take outside. After about 10 mins. of playing, take outside. You should know his schedule a little by now, every time you see him heading for the inside potty spot, take him outside.

Good luck!

Yep that's probably going to be the best way to go, take the pad outside and see if ur pup will use it then slowly try to get them to go outside w/o the pad. You could also try taking some of your pup's waste off the pad and placing it outside where you want your pup to go then taking your pup to that spot. They'll be able to smell it and might cause them to potty outside without having the pad out there.

Try doing what I did to break the peeing in the house, flick the dogs wiener or testes real hard with your finger.

Jolts them good and they'll eventually stop.

I like the moving the pittle pads idea. I was just about to suggest that as I opened the thread, and then saw it was already suggested. :]

Good luck! Potty training can be a bit straining sometimes! :]

I'm not sure what type of dog you have and where you are located but I'm just wondering is it too cold for your dog to relieve itself outdoor? I've a dog that was very sensitive to the cold when I first got her in the middle of a snowy winter and she would not relieve herself outdoor until weather was warmer.
