I had a dog almost choke on a nylabone toy which he somehow managed to cut in half. It was lodged at the back of his throat and he couldn't breathe! Lucky for him my mom managed to take it out! I'm kind of wary of them now...

I'll try the kong! Frozen treats seem like a good idea!

Re frozen treats: Boris is quite enjoying playing with ice cubes! I've given him a frozen mango cube too, he absolutely loved it!

We've been using a really big crown knuckle bone along with the cool kong (filled with yogurt or BP and Frozen) the chewber and the nylabone rhino super tuff bone.

Tine, nylabone makes dozens of different types of chews, both edible and non-edible. Also they come in super tiny right up to Giant sized for the more powerful chewers.

Bottle buddies are a hit here too, with or without cold water in the bottle. These are great because the bottle is secured within the stuffed animal so fragments cant be eaten as the break them apart and you can open it up after and replace the bottle with another one you have around the house.

I sometimes soak the knotted rope toys in chicken broth and then freeze them too. The all love those! I'd recommend replacing them often though

We used the Chilly Bone with our girl when she was teething.

Dog Toys: Chilly Bones at Drs. Foster & Smith

It's the one mentioned above that you wet and place in the freezer. We just got her another one last week to help her cool down - she's 4 and it still works.

We also used kongs, the tire biter, and lots of different nyla bones (edible and non). The cold things seemed to sooth the best.

Just be careful that you always supervise when the pup is in the chewing phase. Our dog did not eat the things she shredded or destroyed as a puppy, fortunately, but many dogs do and it can be dangerous.

My pup doesn't seem to like the kong as a toy too much, he just scoots it around the floor licking it. : / But he does like the Kong "wubba" toy they make that looks like an octopus.

We have also had pretty good success with rope bones soaked in light Chamomile tea and then frozen (Chamomile is a nice natural relaxer). And he also seems to like chewing on cold carrots, frozen strawberries and watermelon.
