safer chews

I have an interesting problem with a 6 year old pointer/english setter mix. She loves rawhides but she works off pieces that are too big and almost chokes herself on them. I have stopped giving them to her because I don't want her to choke. I tried buying some nylabone toys for strong chewers, but they're so hard they cut her gums and she stops using the toy. I've also tried some of their rubber type toys, but when she figures out she cant eat it, she gives up on it. I'm wondering if something like nylabone's healthy edibles are strong enough not break into big chuncks but also soft enough that they don't cut her mouth up while she uses it. I understand some cutting is possible, but the harder toys seemed to be like giving her a pine cone to chew on. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

DOGS ROCK!

Have you tried those big, basted bones?
Like the really big ones. I'm debating wether to get Sparky one for a joke.
