Distract him with a different toy. Dont leave the tennis balls down to where he can get to them. Only play with them when you can watch him then give him a toy he can chew on while putting up the tennis balls.

Just take the tennis ball away-that's not really an 'unsupervised toy' anyways

my dog will carefully peel the fuzz off, then chomp up the rubber...if i let him... if the tennis balls are out in the yard, he only plays fetch with them...every once in a while, i'll let him bring an old one in to destroy since he enjoys it so much... but i supervise and pick up all the little pieces...

Gracie pulls the fuzz off tennis balls, too, but she doesn't eat it. Just pulls it off and leaves it in a nice little pile. She did it to three last night!

I am with everyone else. Take it away, put it away, etc. Maybe that will help...otherwise, you will have fuzzless tennis balls.

Tennis balls are normally just a fetch toy around here. Of course if I leave them laying around all my pups will try to chew them apart. So if I were you keep the ball as a throw around toy and purchase a chew toy for Grover.

Yes, in my house, the tennis balls are tested as to how strongly thay yellow fuzz is attached...my kids will give that material(what in the heck is is MADE OF anyhow?) a run for my money...they don't eat it, but, at times, they will try to "strip it" of its lovely yellow coloring...*dang kids*..anyhow, when I notice them being that bored, I promptly remove the balls, & straight away offer something "different" to them....I'm not made of "mini kong-ball money" after all!! *sheesh!! save the rough chewing for the bully sticks or the lamb bones, would ya' please"!! *rolls eyes*LOL

My dog, Ginger, will tear the fuzz off then rip apart the tennis ball. So we only give them to her when we are watching her.
