| Shoot, I could tie a blade of grass to the end of a string, and my dogs would chase it. During our long walk this afternoon, they 'found' the sprinklers at the hotel...hi-larious. Then they found dandelions that went to seed (puffballs), and they'd sniff them, inhaling the seeds...then the next one, they'd lick, eating the seeds, then they'd just bite the top off the next one...lather, rinse, repeat for about 15 mins...we don't have dandelions in Arizona...or, at least...not MANY, and not where we walk/ride/play...
It's neat watching your dogs find something new...can't wait to try the flirt pole...
I bought two of those filling-less animals, had a squeaker in the head and a squeaker in the tail...the first one lasted a grand total of about 9 minutes, and each dog walked away with a squeaker and half an animal...however, on the end of a flirt-pole, they *may* last longer....we'll see... |

| lol... well i recommend training a really solid "out" with them to prevent too much damage to the toy... next time, i am not going to buy a dog toy, i'm just going to unstuff a toy from the thrift store, those things are expensive, and clover likes the squeakers, but doesn't NEED them... |

| So far, I've been using 'Give' as a cue to spit out whatever they're inhaling/chewing/destro...nevermind, MY dogs don't destroy things, they just modify them to their own tastes...
Anyway, give works REALLY well, I'll just have to do some strong reinforcement before we start with the flirt-pole, as I'm SURE they will get more excited with this than anything else we've done...they get to chase something?
The bummer is, I don't think I'll be able to start with it until after I'm back home, b/c I don't have a place here to contain them other than the dog park, and...well, this is a BAD idea for the dog park... |

| you could just tie a toy on the end of a rope for now...
i when you have them "out" or "give" the toy, make sure you give it right back to them as a reward, if they think that the fastest route to more play is by giving the toy up, then they will give it up really fast... on the DP, i can just see the nightmare unfolding! |

It was all fine and dandy though until Angel decided to take out one of the eyes and chewed through the fabric to detach the head of the fox from its body. |
