| Jess - the 'pass her along' dog! Hello i am hey to dogforum and thought id share the story of my little year old border collie cross.
In her short life shes had 4 homes, been on the streets, been beaten and had to eat her sister to survive!
From what i know she is originally from Ireland, She was found at the side of the road as a 5 month old pup (vets guessed her birthday to be 03/03/2009) Apparently she was found with her sister who sadly had died and jess was living off her to survive. At 5 month she was adopted where they found her too much effort so she was sent over to dogs trust in England. They rehomed her but yet again within the month they found her to have too much energy and couldnt give her the love or attention she needed so was sent back to dogs trust.
at 7 months old she was adopted out AGAIN, this time to a family with 2 children, a large garden and all the love in the world, again this didnt work out. They often beat her for messing in the house (bearing in mind she has never been house trained) and became a walking nervous wreck so what would you know 3 months later they sent her back to dogs trust....this is where we come into the story
at 1 year old we adopted Jess, she was a little shy thing who when we got her home decided to try and kill our jack russell. All that was over come as Kai soon put her in her place and now they are the best of friends. when we got her she didnt know any basic commands, and would mess in the house regularly, Im proud to say now however she can sit, stay, lie down, walk on and off a lead, come to call and has not messed in the house for at least 2 months. She loves to play, run and jump all over everything, she loves to meet new people (although is not good with big crowds...but were working on this!) and is slowly getting better and better with other dogs. She still has some hurdles to over come, she likes to know what your doing all the time, cant leave your side and doesnt like it when shes not in the same room as you or cant get to you, but were working on this (shes fine when your out the house, its when your in the house and she cant be with you!)
Sorry for writing an essay, im just so impressed with the way shes come along, now she is a brave little thing who is into everything and anything |

| Indeed i do
She is coming along fantastically, shes so nosey and in your face, yet now has manners and affection to burn. i think she was just looking for love and was completely miss understood for people not having the patience with her!
(i dont know if these pics will work, i still cant quite work this!) |

| The last pic is the 'your never getting my football....its mine and ill run away as fast as possible...until i want you to kick it again' face!
Thankyou so much for replying, were hoping to do a sponsored dog walk soon with her, as shes getting much better with other dogs, still doesnt like them in her personal space but can tolerate them around her.
Then after that possibly agility (as shes a speed daemon...but somehow always manages to cut her back legs open - hence the little bandages on her back legs in the 2nd picture!)
The who knows, now shes with us THE WORLDS HER OYSTER |
