Homemade agility equipment?

I would like to set up a small agility course this summer just as a fun way to exercise Opal and Jasper. I've seen basic equipment for sale in dog supply catalogs for around $150 and they seem to be made from PVC piping. Does anyone know if there are any make-your-own instructions out there?

Yes there are, I bet a google search could help you. My agility club has plans available to it's members to make their own. We make lots of stuff out of PVC

About the only thing I would not make my self is the tubes/chute the rest is wood or PVC. You can get the PDF file of what dimensions are on the AKC site.
http://www.akc.org/pdfs/rulebooks/REAGIL.pdf for the rules on Agility.

here is the link to the actual size of the course items

I'm planning on making my own out of PVC pipe this spring. If you have small or toy dogs Meijer and Wal-Mart sell two pretty nice starter agility sets for a good price. The one set has a collapsed tunnel, a pause circle, and a tire style jump it was only $19.99. The other set had a regular tunnel, an adjustable jump and a pause circle(you'd end up with two but oh well) it was $29.99. But they only fit small dogs nothing bigger than a small beagle, or cocker spaniel size dog. I bought one for Jynx, my aussie, but she was too big to fit through the tunnel so I took it back.

Oh, I had no idea! Never would have thought to look there! I did find some instructions on the internet, but will check these stores first. Yes, they would be used for my shih tzu/poodle mixes so they sound perfect. Thanks!
