Just keep in mind the dog was clearly not in the car with the child as it jumped in through the window to attack him, but yes the child should have not been left alone in a car period.

This is really sad and heartbreaking.

What person, in their right mind, would leave a child, a baby even, in a vehicle all by themselves? So what if it's for a second, take the child out and bring it with you or at least have someone watch the child while you go in. Come on people use your heads! I have seen so many commericals that show you what could happen if you leave your child in a vehicle. The one commerical that sticks out to me is the baby is sitting in the car alone, and no one is around. Than in big letters it says, A CAR IS NOT A BABYSITTER.

Very sad
Just proves how every dog, even "Good dogs" shouldn't be left alone with children or infants!

When are parents or guardians going to get it that you don’t leave a young child unsupervised with any animal not even for a minute. This could easily been prevented had the mother not just left her child even for a second. Even if he was in the car honestly this world is not safe someone could have swooped in and kidnapped him. Tried to steal the car. People just dont think it can happen to them.

No dogs don't get jealous. That's a human emotion. It likely was the baby was crying/whining and it triggered prey drive (small game in distress sounds an AWFUL lot like a baby crying). Honestly I'm not surprised it was BC. I've met quite a few that were downright NASTY. Glad the child will be ok and sad if they bring charges against the grand parents. There really wasn't anything they did wrong, and shame on the parents for leaving a young infant in a car unattended.
