bees responsible for 3 dogs lives lost

A family in AZ (I think) was attacked by bees. The parents, their children, 4 dogs and horses all attacked. You could see the welts all over the horses. 3 of the dogs were badly stung to the point they had to be put down...how scary and sad time to find out how to protect dogs from bees (like a fog can you can carry or something)

For sure! Ill look around tomorrow. I think there are fogger things but I doubt it would make a difference with a whole swarm. Its believed that all bees here are africanized honey bees, no more regular stupid bees, now its uber stupid bees lol.

how ironic is this...I was looking at hives (I want to raise bees) and Iam just slighly leery about having the dogs and a hive..

any info on if these were african bees? I can't imagine european bees doing that.

well "wild" bees are for the most part...but beekeepers only raise europeans.

they can hybridize, thats why keepers have to check them frqently.

sorry, been beeeecoming a bee nerd lately.

Oh yea if you can get european bees I wouldn't worry about it. I work in the groves around wild bees and have never had an issue. I mean swarms of the bees are around me when in the groves, not just 1 or 2.
