Update on Ares...and more info about him!

So Ares just finished his second dose of chemo today! I try really hard to make him gain some weight tho! Any advice on foods that may do the trick?

Generally he seems quite strong and plays a lot and runs! I hope he is happy!

I made a little research on his past asking in shelters and I found many interesting things about him. He is probably a purebred and the family who had him abandoned him in a shelter in London. He was 3 years there and from what I've been told they guessed he was about 1y/o then. After a family adopted him before he signs in a shelter again 2 years later as he was taken away from the family because they abused him. He was in that shelter for about 1 year and someone adopted him again and brought him back to the shelter 1 year later because of "aggression" problems. He escaped the shelter and found 2 years later from our local one. He stayed there for another 2 years before we get him!

All this info came out when in a vet visit we discovered he was microchiped in a strange place...the chip was found in his tail!! Weird eh? The shelter knew about it but they never told us!!

Anyway, so he is about 12 years old and that matches exactly the guess the vets in London did when he took him there for the surgery! I must say he doesn't look so old!!

Good to hear he is still playing! Love the name btw.

I know raw eggs and oils (like fish oil) can help put some weight on. Maybe even nupro? I know its a daily supplement so it may help him gain weight.

I did a quick search and found a thing called satin balls. Its high-fat meat, wheat germ, gelatin and oil. I have never heard of it so maybe a little research or if anybody has done it themselves?

GL too

Update

This morning Ares was playing with his ball in my carpet and suddenly he passed out! I was so scared!! I run to him and as soon as I got there he was back again and jumped on me! I took him to the vet immediately and he is still there for exams and just in case this happens again! (I'm 2 hours away from the vet so that was the best for him I think). As I was driving him to the vet he passed out once more I think but I'm not sure cause he was inside his box.

So I'm waiting to see what the exams will show us. Do you have any idea of what could that be?

He is ok now but still no clue what happened! He wasn't dehydrated

Waiting for todays x-rays and bloodwork. Do you think this can be from chemo? My vet said basically no but what do you think?
