with that much hair loss my first thought is thyroid.


Needs to see another vet for another opinion at bear minimum, probably several things wrong with this guy

I had a chocolate lab that had a thyroid condition, she would lose her hair and would get these black growths on her. From what I can remember they treated her with a thyroid medication and the hairloss and black dots were actually from ringworm which they are more prone to because of the thyroid. (I am sure someone will contradict this because i dont actually know anything about my dog or any other dog) But you may want to get their thyroid checked. The meds were not expensive at all, but she did have to go on a special diet to keep her weight down.

He is about six.They haven't mentioned a thyroid check so I assume he hasn't had one. Will also recommend the fish diet to them and a second opinion. He is actually quite chunky too compared to the bitch who is a tiny little thing. Thanks xxx
