Exclamation rescued Border Collie

My sons and I rescued a 2yr. old border collie from a man at the local dump that was going to shoot him for killing chickens. I bought him Iams dog food and now he has loose stools. Will it clear up? Or should I take him to the vet. He has no other problems that I can see.

If you intend on keeping him I'd take him to the vet for a fecal exam and de-worming also a rabies vaccination. If he isn't used to eating reg. dog food it may be upsetting his system and causing him to have loose stools. Rice cooked with chicken broth works well for upset tummies gradually add the Iams in with it till he's off the rice all together that's what my vet always recommended to his clients.
