| Question about a bland diet Our 11 week old puppy, Stella, has been having diarrhea off and on since Sunday. She’s acting like her normal crazy-puppy self and is eating and drinking just fine, so I think her treats may be upsetting her tummy. We’ve been feeding her chicken and rice all week but we have still been giving her treats for training and in her Kong (I did PB and kibble last night and her D came back with a vengeance today!). We are going to ONLY do chicken/cottage cheese and rice tonight and tomorrow and see how she’s doing before calling the vet again. I just don’t know how much to give her. She gets about 3 cups/day of her California Natural kibble, but I feel like she should get more of the chicken/rice since there’s almost no fat in it. What do you think? |

| I think you are over feeding at one time. Too much food can cause upset stomach just as easily. Break it up- ie 2 better yet 3 feedings a day so she isnt eating so much at time .
Also an upset stomach will cause hyperactivity too. |

| Reading what she is feeding I do not see a bland diet.. Chicken and rice is not really bland but eating too much can cause a problem.
How you can tell if a dog is over eating is look at the stool- if it is a loose stool and lighter in color- you are over feeding. |

| Bland diet is like " ID"- ie by hills... That is a canned food and given to dogs after surgery. |
