My dog's stomach is hard and tense.

I have four year old bichon. I noticed she was shaking, i tried to pick her up to see what was wrong but she started crying, i felt her stomach seem very hard. So i was worried i toke her to the vet the next day. Just to get it clear this all happen about 3-4 week ago. The vet said he didn't know what cause the pain. He did blood work,x-rays,stool test. Everything came out clean. Prescribed two medicine one was pill and liquid. One was antibiotic and the other one i forgot. Gave her medicine for 8days straight. She was eating and drinking small amount of food and water. After 8days of medicine, She seem better. Didn't cry when i pick her up, still eating and drink, bark at the mailman..etc seem to getting better but still very lazy; not active ,and her stomach is still hard and tense. She poop very small amount of poop. I don't know what to do. Happen 3-4 week ago and her stomach is still hard.

Definitely time for a second opinion. Find another vet or have your vet refer you to an internal medicine specialist.

Trust yourself. You know the dog is not well.

Agree that a second opinion might be good.

What are you feeding her?
How much compared to how much she is defecating?
Is she still shaking? Bichons can get a genetic condition called White Dog Shaker Syndrome..The only time they do not shake is when relaxed/sleeping. It is treatable with medication
What medication was given?
Is she drinking and urinating regular?
These questions will help the 2 vets on the forum give a better diagnosis.

Thank you all for replying. I feed her wetfood with dry food. And sometime i feed her human food which i now know isn't good for her. No she not shaking, pain went down. She is drinking and urinating small amount, but i do noticed that she urinate twice after urinated couple of second ago. No she not pregnant, Never been near a male dog. She not vomiting, fixed(sprayed). My vet told me every test they gave her was clear, so they assumed it was bacterial infection which take 1-3 week to clear. I will take her to another vet if she not fully healed within 4days.

Can you give more info on the tests that were done, the meds that were prescribed and how she's acting now?

Sure; They done Pancreatic Lipase Test (CPL Snap),Comprehensive Blood Test,Radiograph and Fecal with Giardia to Lab. They Prescribed Metronidazole, Famotidine(Pepcid) and Diet can food. They gave 2.pain injection,3.cefazolin injection, and 2. Famotidine injection on two days. She is very lazy; always sleep but she see mailman,cat,etc.. she would run to door and start barking then after she would go back to sleep. Usually she would jump on the chair and lay down but now she can't even jump. There is time when we try to pick her up she would cry. Her stomach would get hard when she walks but when she lay down for couple of minute; it felt completely normal. Eat and drink small amount. Seem like she got problem to pooping; toke her a while to lay small poop.

Did they palpate her back to see if her back or neck is painful? A lot of times back pain looks like abdominal pain, so it is possible that she's tensing her abdomen to prevent her back from hurting.

Ditto Holly. That's one of the tops things you look for when suspecting back issues in Doxies, I imagine it's the same for other breeds

No they didn't they only palpate her stomach. In the x-ray they show me that her bones were good from head to tail nothing seem odd. She walk/run fine. She can jump down the chair but can't jump up that weird. That a good possibility tho.
