Loekins Vet Visit

So I took Loekin into the vet with a poop sample today since the snow finally cleared off the roads and.....

He has:
-Coccidia
-Round worms
-Hook worms

Yup, all those! And he is FULL of them they said.

He has so many that he literally has no nutrition left in him and his skin is flaking away.

He has been very down today and I feel so bad for him.

They gave me heart worm medication, Hook worm medication, and round worm medication. After all the meds he should be completely healthy!
And then I have another vet appointment Feb. 27th. He will get another poop sample done, a check up, dewormed again, and his puppy shots.

I am glad I know now what is wrong with him so i can fix the problem.

Thanks guys for all the help

SO glad you got him started in the right direction! That is so nice to hear and your little guy can start feeling good. Imagine how much energy he will have when he feels better.

He's going to grow so much better when you don't have to feed the worms too! Try to pick his poop up immediately now that he's been wormed-if he's full-well it will be gross-but they can reinfect from their own poop-so scoop it up and keep it scooped

And so glad you found out the cause of the diarhea! What a poor puppy!

Now that I think about it, it's probably much better for Loekin that you got him early!

Once the worms are gone that might cause him not to be so hyper. But he is a puppy so he will always somewhat hyper

Thank you for taking the advice to heart & getting him in so quickly. As you can tell it was advice from those who have been where you are right now. Poor little man will be a whole new dude inside of 2-3 days then even more so by the time he finishes his meds.

ps...the rice is still a good idea on his tender & young tummy. My pups get it as a 'treat' since they love it so much.
