Lizzys Story

A few days before Lizzy's first birthday she fell ill...Little did we know what was wrong with her.She had gone on heat for the first time and as she was an inside dog she needed to wear something. She wore a clean cloth that was changed every couple of hours. One night Lizzy seemed to have lost her appetite.Unsure of what was wrong with her I took her out to go to the toliet but she didn't go.I told my parents straight away about Lizzy's strange behaviour. The next morning she still was not looking any better...She wouldn't jump, walk very well, and she was restless. We took her to the vets where Dr Kim saw her after about half an hour or so...I waited in the waiting room,it felt like hours but really it was only about 45 minutes. It turned out that Lizzy had a Uterous Infection. She stayed in over night and she had surgery.Dr Kim called us at night and said that Lizzy was recovering well but she was still really tired etc.I don't think I've ever been so worried in my life. The next morning we went and picked her up from the vet.I think she was put on antibiotics and something else. That night we had our neighbours up for our Pizza Night. We also celebrated Lizzy's 1st birthday!!The next day Lizzy seemed really ill.We rushed her back to the vets and he said,'Lizzy is fine she is just faking it!!' So we took her home and she was fine. She was on antibiotics and something else. It's such a shame that Lizzy can't have puppies, she would have made a great mum,but I guess it just wasn't meant to be!Lizzy has recently celebrated her 5th birthday!

Yeah Lizzy is fine now...she was fine 3-4 weeks after the surgery! Her world had been turned upside down though because last year a new dog came to live with us.(Toby)She doesn't like him much...poor Liz
