Unhappy Just need to vent please

Hi, I'm sorry to vent here but I don't have anywhere else to vent. My 9 year old lab/rottie just came up with a tumor on her side. I took her to the vet and they said it was a fatty tumor BUT there are some "suspicious" cells in it. I am a wreck.....I am afraid to find out if it's cancer but I can't NOT find out!! Has anyone gone thru the uncertainty only to find out it was NOT cancer? Like I said, I just needed to vent.......no one around here seems to care but me and I can't do this alone! Thanks.

Oh, I am sorry you and your dog are going through this right now.

{{{{Hugs}}}} and {{{{Healing vibes}}}}

I'm not really sure what to say...
Just deal with it one step at a time. Don't freak out yet. It could just be a benign tumor.
My first rescue had several fatty growths. None of them were malignant. It is pretty common for older dogs to have them.
But deffinitely listen to your vet and have it tested, especially it there were some "suspicous cells". It is far better to be safe than sorry IMO.

Thanks so much for the hugs and healing thoughts. Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I guess I just freaked because I lost all of my human family to cancer and this gal is my last hold on life and I don't want to lose her that way too!! She is a super dog. I rescued her on PetFinders 8 1/2 years ago and she has been the best friend ever and I will fight for her until there is no fight left! I am hoping for benign and will go forward with testing. Thank you so very much for being there...........we BOTH appreciate it!

I'm sorry for the loss you've already had in your life, hun.
I know it's hard but I hope you try to keep a positive attitude throughout
this new ordeal. It may not be as bad as you're anticipating but I can sure understand your emotional dilemma. I've not had personal experience with this but I've known people who have and even if the worst case senario presents itself, it can still be overcome, if caught in time. Don't lose hope.
We're here for you - you don't have to go through this alone.

I'm so sorry about your family and about Katie. It might not be as bad as you think. We found a German Shepherd puppy abandoned at a Circle-K store. We took her home and had her for 13 yrs. We only had her for a short while when we noticed the little bump she had on her head was getting bigger. We took her to our vet. They removed the lump and did a biopsy. They said it was a stage 2 cancer. They said they got it all but it could come back in other areas of her body. She never had cancer again. And she lived a long healthy life with us. I will pray for both of you. Please let us know what happens.

I work with Sheltie rescue and several of our rescues have come in with fatty tumors that were removed and they are just fine. So try not to panic just yet.

((((Hugs))))
