| For now, I simply save my money. I think it would be too expensive to cover everyone.
luckily we haven't had two huge bills before we could recover...but it seems at soon as the account hits a certain number Its gone again. |

| I think they give multiple dog discounts, Crio, BUT They don't cover pre-existing conditions (as any insurance doesn;t) so with your crew you probably couldn't get coverage Not funny sorry-but you knwo what I mean. For you looking on the internet wouldn't cut it you'd have to call them and outline your crew and see what they could do and for how much |

| I don't actually pay for insurance for my dogs. I do have complimentary insurance through my car insurance company (only covers injuries in a car accident) and through Home Again (only covers injuries that happen when a dog is lost).
I do put a minimum of $10 per animal in a seperate savings account each month. I just pay for normal veterinary expenses out of pocket. I want to build up a fund for expenses that will undoubtedly happen, especially as they get older. |

| I have medical insurance for Snickers through PetPlan. I pay about $40/month and I have a $100 deductible with 100% coverage. That means if she get injured or sick I pay $100 then they pay the rest. They do offer discounts for spayed and microchipped pets as well as online and multi pet discounts.
I was debating whether to get it and my logic is that I pay $22/month for Netflix without thinking and I can ensure the health and welfare of Snickers for $40/month. I thought if something happened to her I'd pay whatever it took to get her back to good health so the $400 per year is well worth it for me. They do not cover routine wellness visits, it is there in case of emergency or serious health issues. They cover all genetic conditions too...some companies do not.
I just filed my first claim today because Snickers has kennel cough and it cost me $175 to get checked out and the meds. We'll see how easy it is. |

| I do not have pet insurance on my dogs, I have always thought, since I have a few, that the premiums would be more than what my actual vet bills are. The only thing I can caution on is to make sure they cover both breed genetic and accidently injuries. I know many will have fine print about certain breeds (ie bulldogs) and if it is something the breed is "known" for, ie cherry eye or entropian, they wont cover it.
I have had to use care credit before as well, it was similar to a credit card, higher interest rate. But it didnt matter when my dog was sick and we didnt have the money. Unfortunatley $10,000 later we still lost him, but it was worth it to try.

I picked PetPlan because they cover all breed defects as well as congenital defects. I have a Basset and some insurance companies had exclusions for Bassets, PetPlan didn't. |

After what happened with our cat ($1000 after all the treatments, hospitalization, euthanization and cremation)...I'd rather have my cat and a $1000 bill, but I ended up with just the bill.
I'll have to look into PetPlan. |
