Cleo's tumor: update I just got home from the vet with my little girl and found out that the tumor was cancerous. I found a picture of her about 6+ months ago where you can see a small version of her tumor. This means that if it was going to spread through her system, it already has. I talked to the vet, and decided that amputation is not an option when weighing the pain factor with the fact that it has probably already spread past the leg. I asked her if there was a painless treatment that will give her a chance, and we came up with drug/chemo therapy. We will start her on the drugs after her leg heals, because it involves steroids.
Be assured, she will not suffer. I believe that keeping a Terminal, pain ridden animal alive is only for the owners sake. She has had a good long life filled with fun and excitement, and I will not let her last memories be filled with pain and despair. I am hoping that it won't come to that, but it is in the cards if needed. |
