She's warm to the touch, but no fever (yes, I do that). Generally, just lethargic-maybe nothing? Doesn't seem to be in pain or anything. We went on a few bike rides this week, nothing out of the ordinary.

Sorry for the delay - long weekend...re-checked her temp around 2:30 and it was high (104.5), she was still trembling, so we took a moonlit ride to the emergency animal clinic. Yaaay. EAC vet indicated best explanation was either valley fever or tick fever - started Chloe on doxycycline (antibiotic) for the infection (CBC panel showed high wbc count indicating infection). She had stopped trembling while @ the vet's office, probably from the excitement of the ride over (she LOVES the jeep - god forbid I get too close to a pole or something, she'll lose her head!...so it was good to see her still get excited - and she would take food / water, so it wasn't THAT dire of a thing, but still - didn't seem right). Anyway, back on track. Got her home, we went to sleep (well, she went to sleep, I couldn't sleep with the trembler in bed...finally stopped trembling around 9am, I fell asleep for a few hours, and ever since, she's been back to her (almost) normal self. She's definitely not AS exuberant as normal, but she'll go get a toy and play, with me, with Tonka, so - I guess none the worse for wear.

Whats the next step? Are they doing bloodwork to see if its valley fever?

ditto pawz's question tho, is this a watch and wait type thing? or does she need to see the regular dr now?

Emergency vet sent bloodwork off to check for valley fever and tick fever - treatment for tick fever is doxycycline - already started on that treatment, just in case.

If it's valley fever, I guess there's a whole 'nother round of treatment - we'll see the regular vet for that info, if it comes back positive.

Fingers crossed it was just some little infection that the doxy is taking care of.

Well - if this is the case, lucky for me, it'll show up with a $0.00 balance for a few months...so Chloe will remain healthy...
