Bump...tooth abcess, or natural?
Thanks for your replies! The reason I asked here was, not bc I am a neglegent dog parent...but because it was Friday eve and the vet would not be in office for 3 more days.
Here's another reason, I asked you folks first. Knowledge is power! I had a vet MISDIAGNOSE a Cranial Cruciate ligament tear (all after a series of ex-rays...twice!) and because of that my dog now has arthritis and a worse tear on the first knee with a partial tear on the other leg which tried to compensate. Oh, but i do have the option for $4,000.00, and a 10 hour drive of very invasive ortho surgery where she would have both her tibias sawed apart and "repaired" with metal plates and screws.
If i were to take her to the vet, my dog would damage her knees even more, because climbing in and out of cars, will only cause more tears to her torn ligaments.
Had I spoken to dog lovers on a forum I would have known that it very probably was a CCL tear, and prevented alot of pain and arthritis for my young dog. I would have had her on an intense rest program for 6 months, and used a bace to support her damaged ligaments before they got WORSE. All this I learned from a dog forum, but sadly AFTER the fact because I had faith in my vet.
By the way, the vet said those bumps on their gums behind the tiny front top teeth aid in the sense of smell.
