update!

so Critter had surgery yesterday...we picked her up this morning...unfortunately Tippy and I had to come straight to work, so I only got to see her for a few minutes...so the SO has her all day...I think she will just sleep, she was very drugged still.

So good news first..dental went well, she got to keep all those nasty teeth still...bloodwork came back fine and her xrays show that the cancer had not spread to the heart and lungs.

bad news...turns out they needed to remove more tissues than expected...I was expecting two mastectomies...so two spots with maybe an inch of sutures...turns out the masses were spreading into neighboring glands she she actually had to have a QUADRUPLE mastectomy...

so she had staples...like over 12 inches of staples...shes 9lbs.

her chest looks like a zipper...

so surgery went very well, Iam hoping she recovers from this. I will post photos when I can. Its pretty scary looking.

staples are ten days I believe he said...its written down on the sheet kev has.

oh and prozac....Critters phobias went away BUT she was acting "wierd". She was going out into the yard and sleeping alot (not her AT ALL) so the vet said its probably because shes feeling at little drugged...so he recommended we give her a pill every other day instead of daily..

since we started doing that she has inproved more...shes very bounce bounce happy, and while she still has "wierd" moments they are greatly reduced. The phobias are mostly gone (still afraid of the clicker) and her energy has returned. I no long feel like she hates her life.

Poor baby. 12" of zipper. Hope they got it all and she heals quickly.

You could always cut her doggie prozac in half and give her a little bit each day.

Thank you.

I tried to cut it (i have a pill splitter) and I crushed the pill...the pills are smaller than a claritin pill, if you've seen those...like..think a #2 pencil lead.

But yes, ideally she would have a 1/4 pill everyday vs half pill every other day.

Wow. Those are tiny pills. I was hoping the pill cutter would do it. It's just never easy, is it? Give that little girl a hug from us. I'm glad she's doing better!

Shes doing so wonderful its bizzare...I came home and she greeted me at the door...boucing in her little lampshade hat. So said she'd been up for hours.

walking around, asking for attention...acting like nothing happened...when this dog was spayed she acted like she was going to DIE for three days...now she has a gaping hole in her chest and no problem

bizzare little creature.
