whenever he gets wet by the rain or the river just put some dry shampoo on and dry thouraly because thres nothing worse then a stinky pooch

You shouldn't wash him with shampoo more than once or twice a month though, it is not good for his skin. If he gets dirty just wash him with plain water and then use a towel with some camomile on it and he will smell just fine, although he will try to get the smell of camomile off him by rubbing himself on carpet or floor.

That's a good idea. I wondered what if we use a drop or two of aroma therapy oil in the water then use a towel with the water then rub on him. This should help with his smell without drying his skin too much.

If he doesn't like bathing, something that can help is to use a nice detangling spray whenever you brush. I really like the TrueBlue spray-- it's got a very fresh lavender scent. I got it on Amazon.
