Pine Sap

Do you guys have any tips for removing pine sap from paws?
A certain min pin who loves to chase chipmonks and squirrels up a very large pine tree, now has a decent amount of sap stuck to her front paws.

I have pulled off as much as I could and made sure that there aren't any pine needles stuck to her paws. I can't trim it because the fur between her pads is so short. Also most of it is stuck directly on her paw pads.
Should I just let it wear off, or is there something else I could do?

i haven't tried it on a dog before, but i use oil to get it off the car... i'd say some olive/veggie oil would be a reasonable thing to attempt it with...

i usually just let it fall out on clover, but he has pretty thick fur, my friend's dog, with thinner fur actually got a little sore under some sap that had been on him... nothing serious, but it was in a tricky spot to try to remove, and when we finally got it off, we realized...

ooo, just had a thought, maybe some vaseline type stuff in a sock on her foot if she won't mess with it for a while would work too...

Thanks for the tips guys!

I am going to go try the oil right now since I have it here, and if it doesn't work I will run next door to see if my neighbor has some skin so soft (her daughter sells avon). At the very least I could order some for future use.

Arrow

~ ISOPROPYL RUBBING ALCOHOL
safely and entirely removes pitch from just plain everything.....

fur + skin + gardening tools + automobile windshields, etc!

~ For puppydog paws.....

thoroughly soak the pitch with rubbing alcohol ~
rub it in with your fingers ~
wait a bit for it to dissolve the pitch,
and then gently comb it a-l-l out!
