First Grown Up Groom...

So we had ourselves a little party yesterday, as a Mini we walk with turned one and had her very first proper groom. Up until now her owner has just clipped her all over and keeps her short because she's very much a working dog and spends all day on a farm. But she said that I could groom her however I liked, so I went for the traditional cut, and here's how she turned out!

Before, sharing a drink with Freds, she's the one looking at me.

On the table, waiting for the deed.

After! Her muma had to hold her still whilst I took pics as she would leap off the table otherwise...!

Body shot.

Will continue with more pics...

Yeah, I know American cuts are a bit different. I groom my own two and my bitch for show, I would have liked to leave more furnishings on her...but she didn't have any to begin with, really, lol!

Thanks Fawks, she does look like a proper little lady now, before she looked a bit like a tomboy. I love her though, we walk every week and she's such a laid back 'safe' dog.

Thanks everyone!

Tee hee, we went for a walk today and she did look really grown up, it was lovely. I'm grooming a Yorkie tomorrow, will add pics when he's done, I even ordered some ribbons specially!

You did a great job, it doesn't even look like the same dog!

I wanted to share a picture of my mini schnauzer (since I don't met many people that own them)

Lily just after going to the groomers (this is her summer cut)

And Lily with her winter cut. She has lightened up so much since winter it's crazy. Have you ever known of their coat doing that? She'll be 2 in November so she's still fairly young.

Hey, she's beautiful! Lovely cut, too.

A lot of Schnauzers lighten their coats, it's called fading, you see it a lot in blacks, black and silvers, and pepper and salts. My girl is stripped, but clipped ears and chest, and her ears and chest are light grey because I'm just clipping off her coat instead of preserving it and taking it out to grow afresh; so her wire coat has stopped coming through in those areas and now it's just undercoat coming through, which is grey. Same thing happens with clipped dogs all over.

It's very common, don't worry about it! xx

That's good to know, thank you. I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Sorry!
