Olivers eyes run but I just wipe them off all the time. He doesn't seem to get any staining. I occassionaly wipe his face off with a damp cloth... other times I just wipe it off with my fingers. Prob gross, but I'm use to it. haha. I have heard that if they drink purified water it won't be as bad, but I'm not sure how much truth there is to that. Unfortunately smaller dogs eyes seem to run more than others, and it shows up more on white fur.

Some said that feeding your dog with grain-free food helps but I've never seen any prove or you can try a product called Angle Eyes (Angels Eyes | Tear Stains | Pet Coat Stains | Eye Care For Pets | Eye Stains). It's available for both cats and dogs.

I have heard the filter water thing before also...I keep meaning to try it.

it depends WHY the dog is doing it...som'times their tear ducts aren't big enough and that causes it... som'times it the food.

alot of people use angel eyes, but its an antibiotic, and when you stop giving it the tears come back, that and I hear alot of dogs wont touch it even when mixed with food(its a powder).

Critters are BAD...you just wipe alot

Besides what has been suggested....When you do your vet check have them check for plugged tear ducts. There are eye wipes you can get at the pet store to help with eye stain.
