Do you brush your dog's teeth?

I was at the vet today and there were signs everywhere that February is National Pet Dental Month.

We have a tooth brush for Kelsey and did her teeth a few times but it has never become a habit like brushing her or cleaning her ears. We have never brushed Kimber's teeth.

I was just wondering how many of you brush your dog's teeth.

I have a tooth brash too foe every dog but I use it maybe once a month I give them dental sticks every night after dinner tho. I don't know much to say about it apparently. Plus that brushing tooth of 12 dogs in daily bases would be a pain ! Not that I mind doing it but I just don't.
Should I brush them everyday?

Along with their annual shots I do a good cleaning in the vet. I don't know if that's enough but they seem to have very bright teeth

My vet says I should brush at least once a day. I do give them a dental chew once a week though too.

Oh I am sorry I didn't mean to worry you LoL. I guess that is why I started this thread to see how common it is to brush.

I brush Emmy's teeth occasionally with CET toothpaste and a human toothbrush. Not as much as I should probably. and every once in a while I will scrape some of the tarter off her molars with a dental scraper.

No. Well I do maybe once or twice a month when I give him a really goo full grooming at the shop.

He brushs his own teeth twice a day with his meals any way, much better then I could.

Brushing teeth... Well, I have never heard of brushing a dogs teeth when my big lug was one years old. And when I found a 'dog toothbrush' at a store, I was extactic. But when I tried to brush my dogs teeth, (was told to lift up the lips only, not shove) and well, my dog ended up using his paws to paw down my hand and than run away.

Since than, when I pull out my own toothbrush, (he thinks it's his) and he hids from me. tee hee hee. I usually use the medicated chew toys and milk bones. On a really rare occassion (something special) he'll get pig ears. (He loves those and will eat the entire bag if he gets into it.)

We don't brush every day-once a week. We trained for it really slowly as none of my dogs have even partially tolerated brushing teeth. He thinks its an awesome game though-we still aren't brushing the whole mouth-just a quick brush-I don't want to turn it into a scary experience. His teeth are great but they won't stay that way so it is something we are focusing on
