Dont let him jump around. tie him to something. use 2 leashs is needed (one around neck and one around belly)Everytimg he is calm and good for the brushing, reward him.

You dont have a sturdy table? banister? railing? all easy places to tie up a dog. if you have a yard 2 good stakes int he ground could probably work also

I think i have kind of cracked it. I keep some treats next me. I make him sit and say "nicely". when he does it and i have done a few brushes i praise him and do it again. although he does get silly sometimes and nibble anything he can get his teeth on. lol. he does enjoy it tho. lol. thanks for you help.

I have my dogs lay down on thier sides when I groom. It helps prevent them from mooving too much and they usually fall asleep by the time I'm done grooming.

Luca wont lie down. he thnks its one big game and he has to get the brush off me. lol. if he sits he knows he has to behave (as much as he does). he does manage to sneek in an odd kiss every now and then too. lol. he has improved a lot tho.

The most important thing is that you are consistent. Keep brushing him every day or at least a couple of times a week. Over time he should learn to stay calm. I think the treats are a good idea, but you have to gradually increase the time betweet treats, until you are only giving him only a couple or ideally one at the end. I hope this helps. You have a beautiful dog and I love his name! Cheers.
