Are tennis balls bad for dog teeth?

Do they wear down the teeth and should they be avoided? I've read where they threads get swallowed but do they wear down the teeth as well? I have some but he's still got his baby teeth. But his favority throw ball is a squeeky soccer ball.

They will wear down the teeth if the dog chews on them continuously and obsessively. Theres nothing wrong with having them for toys but if you notice him chewing on the ball too much maybe trade it for something else.

I've heard tennis balls are a 'no-no' for dogs because they can choke on them. That said, I'm sure we could find a story of a dog somewhere in the world that had a problem with almost every toy out there!! So, use an appropriate size ball for the dog and I'm sure you'll be fine. I've never heard of a ball wearing down a dog's teeth before - but I guess chewing on anything for hours on end could cause problems.

I have heard of a staffie choking on a tennis ball in Aus but it was a freak accident. The fluff off the ball can get stuck in their throat but if that happens feed the dogs a piece of dried bread
