Thanks again for the canned food rec... It's working and helping a lot with getting Boris used to my new work - and his new life - schedule...
I went for Taste of the Wild canned food since that's the type of kibble I'm giving him now. I was fairly disappointed to find that it's one of those chunky types of canned food, which I hate. I think it just looks disgusting and doesn't mix well with the kibble, especially since my goal is only to coat the kibble to make it more palatable so he'll actually finish his bowl and actually eat. Well, nothing a nice trip in the blender couldn't solve! I added his daily puppy supplement in as well. He loves it. So do the cat and my parents' dog actually. I'm babysitting my parents' 10 yeah old Tzu, and he usually refuses to eat when they are not around. He's on a special hypo-allergenic diet but this canned meat is safe for him. Let's just say he hasn't skipped a meal! As for the cat, he's been going outside a lot this summer and has lost a lot of weight so I'm a bit worried, I just add a bit of the can to his kibble so he'll eat more of it...
I'm starting to see more concrete results with Boris' health since switching to no-grain. His coat is no longer dry, it's all nice and soft and bouncy! His ears no longer itch all the time and the juvenile dermatitis spots have all gone away. Mixed results with the tear stains. Most of the time he doesn't stain as much as he used to, but once in a while he'll have a bad day and tear up more...
I hope we get more positive results as time goes by
