Soft Meaty morsels?

Hi. I am new here. We have struggled these last 2 yrs to find a dog food our dog will enjoy. We can't afford the really expensive brands, and we have tried several of the medium cost brands. We have found he really just wants the softer "meaty morsels" in dog foods, (or he'd really like me to make ground beef or chicken for him each night.)
What medium cost brand would you use that has meaty morsels?
Right now I am using Purina One Smart blend (Lamb and Rice). I had switched to that because he seemed to be scratching his nose/mouth alot the last several months, and I had read it may be an allergy to his food. But now he is really only eating the softer pcs and it seems a wasteful to buy the bag just for that.
We have tried the wet dog foods, but he has turned his nose to several attempts.
(he is a 2 yr old mix, large breed)
Thanks

I would not choose anything from Purina or anything from the grocery store. The ingredients are always poor quality. He may be picking out those portions because that is the only part that has any meat in it. If you have a costco near you get Kirkland's or Natures domain they are real meat no byproducts or fillers. If you feed a higher quality food you might be surprised how his appetite changes.

Have you been to the vet? It sounds like there is something wrong?

I'm sorry I'm hesitant to offer advice unless your pooch has had a checkup around this mouth scratching-and only wanting soft food, and not eating much at all-> all points to painful mouth or other condition.
