There is nothing bad about raw meet! People are scared to feed it because we are educated that it will and can harm us. An animals digestive system is completely different from ours, much much sorter intestine tract. The raw meet does not stay in there very long which is why they poop less because they are able to digest more as opposed to having useless fillers. I've worked in the pet industry for 4 years and I know several food reps from different companies. Plain yogurt will help coat the intestines so if the dog were throwing up, it will help keep the food down. Whole canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) is mostly fiber... it works both ways: if the dog is constipated, it will loosen the stool. If the stool is too soft, it will harden it up. Don't fear raw meet, if you think about it animals in the wild eat it all the time. My 3 year old has never had kibble and never will... He has never had a health issue in his life. Never had a hot spot, his coat is always soft and shiny, he does his duty about 2 times a day. He wouldn't have it any other way.

Ian Billinghurst is or was a vet in Australia that wrote the book "Give a Dog a Bone". He is the vet that first wrote about the BARF diet. He tried the diet on his own dogs. And observed the country dogs that lived on farms and ranches near him, that were his patients. He compared the health of the country dogs to the city dogs that ate mostly commercial dogfood. 7 yrs into using the BARF diet, I wrote and told him about our experience with the BARF diet, so he could add our experience to his records.

You mean raw meat

I think the biggest argument I hear is "wolves eat raw meat in the wild", dogs are not wolves

As for not knowing about dog nutrition...did you know that all the nutrition guidelines for humans are not totally accurate? Humans are not meant to consume milk (cow milk, goat milk, etc) except for babies to grow? There is a study that has been done by huge universities (I will ask my friend if she remembers where the study link is) that shows milk consumption has actually caused osteoporosis in a tribe in Africa. They happen to be the ONLY tribe in this huge study that consumed cow milk.

Anywho, off the tangent lol. I guess my thing with raw is there is still not enough proof to me that this is how a dog should eat however I do believe grain free food is the better choice. As far as "this causes cancer, and that causes this" I just havent seen reliable studies. *shrugs* To each their own like stated before and I dont judge those who choose raw diets
