Red face Quick question about food for 11 weeks goldendoodle

My pup is a medium size goldendoodle that's going to be around 45-50 lbs when he grows up. He's currently 14.5 lbs right now. I just changed his food from royal canin puppy 32 to Orijen puppy. I have mixed the two to integrate the new food into his diet.. so no problem there. I just want to make sure if I am doing this right... so help me out.

I feed him about 1 cup a day.. split up in multiple meals (3 to be exact). I just now realized that there is another product from Orijen that is called Orijen puppy large breed. Am I feeding right? Does it matter what type of puppy feed I give him? Large breed or regular puppy? Confused...

Thanks!

i'm not sure about this... the large breed formulas are designed to help the dog grow at a healthy rate since large breeds take longer to mature... usually large breed implies big bones and a heavier build...i'm just guessing from what i've seen of goldendoodles and from what you've said about the size that you dog isn't really a large breed and should be fine on the regular puppy formula... but i'm just guessing and someone else may have a better answer for you...

I agree with Fawkese. I think large breed means rottweilers, danes, saint Bernards etc.

a golden retriver crossed with a Standard poodle wouldnt be a large breed. As neither are very bulky or large. I wouldnt feed puppy food. Plus I have heard large breeds shouldnt even eat puppy food.
