| I just have to add, petfooddirect just makes me giddy! Since I was futzin around over there looking for the food to link here, I put a 35lb bag of whole earth farms and a 12 can W.E.F. canned food in my shopping cart, entered the promo code and my total is $37.58.
13.2 oz x 12 cans = 158.4 oz
158.4 oz / 16 (16oz in a pound) = 9.9 pounds
9.9lbs plus 35lbs = 44.9 total pounds of food.
$37.58 / 44.9lbs = .84 cents per pound!
Did I mention I love this site? |

| I love Merrick products (including Whole Earth farms)
I just wish they had a consistent finding for their cal/phos
under Guaranteed Analysis ......when I wrote to the company
because I was very interested in their food, they stated that they
don't guarantee the mineral/elements but do periodically test batches.
When calcium is not a major concern though, their products are wonderful. |

Have you posted pics of him? I love Irish Setters. My brother had one, when I was a kid and I have very fond memories of him! |
He's three months... I haven't posted an album or anything but he's on my icon. I just registered yesterday into dogforum. I grew up with these dogs. He's not my first. It took me three years to find this little guy in Florida. I drove 5 hours to get him. This is by far my favorite breed. |

I had ZERO issues with whole prey items, I had MASSIVE issues when trying to switch to traditional raw. I tried twice before I gave up. I should stop before I derail this thread more. | Thanks for the info Crio. Yeah, whole prey ain't happening here then, with my dogs eating 2 to 3 pounds of food a day for the two of them. I try to get stuff for 1 to 2 dollars a pound, so its sort of like having another person in the family... since we don't have "real kids" we can justify it!
Sorry to hear your dogs had troubles with raw. I guess not all dogs take to it. I think there are many great options out there now for feeding dogs a healthy diet, so I like to be open minded! |

| Dog Food Ingredients Dog food contained meat by-products, meat by-products are not meat. They include any part of the animal other than meat. Because any mammal can be used, cheaper meat like horse, pig, or goat are often included.
The same goes for “poultry by-products” or “chicken by-products” because the origin of the meat could be from turkeys, ducks, geese, buzzards, etc, instead of a single source like poultry or chicken.

this is the same as some like "chicken" or "poultry" being the ingredient. chicken would be what you would call a "named meant source" while poultry could be any type including but definitely not limited to chicken. |
