I read the link you posted and it makes sense, but it doesn't apply directly to animals (particularly dogs). I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I don't think we can take literature talking about human digestion and apply it totally to animals. If that was so a raw diet (chicken) would be deadly and cows wouldn't need 4 stomachs.
