then perhaps you can explain it to us and not be snarky about it. Please? Perhaps that was not your intention but thats how I read it.

| IMO, what the food is labeled as, be it all-natural, organic, holistic, etc is not really the important thing! They are just labels after all!
What is important to me is feeding a healthy high quality food, containing human grade ingredients. If I wouldn't eat the ingredients, then I won't feed it to my dogs.
But as far as a definition of what "holistic dog food" actually means, I can't explain it any better than others in previous posts! I find the deffinition of holistic dog food to be a bit vague too!

| Sorry my topic seems to be taken so personally by some. We're only talking about dog food here, and unless you buy "Kibbles and Bits" or something, I'm not gonna judge you for it. I chose what I know best and what I personally have seen work, and that's food I get at my vet's. I've seen T/D work absolutely fine as a maintenance diet, pets love it and thrive on it. End of the discussion for myself.
Because I was seeing more and more bags with the label on it and because that's what I was sold when I got my puppy, I was wondering what Holistic meant. While I get the idea that a food is more "pure" and likely more healthy with no grain, I still don't get the body and soul thing. But hey, it doesn't really matter since I don't intend on buying it...
Let's end the discussion there, I really don't want this to become some kind of fight for dominance over what food is best lol |

| Don't take anything said here too personally! I honestly don't think anyone wanted to offend you. I certainly did not! So if I did offend you in some way, I am very sorry!
And asking what "holistic dog food" actually means is a great question! |

| Just keep in mind, these people should not be judged either as you are talking about my parents who have never had unhealthy dogs and all of their dogs have lived far past the life expectancy. |

| Oh, my parents fed our first shih tzu Kibbles and bits too before we had the allergic dog. He was healthy until he was about 10 years old, when he developed cancer that could not be operated because he had a heart murmur... We just didn't know better. We kind of went off it when we realised there was actual hair in the kibbles. ewww!
Judging is a big word, let's just say that's one of the only occasion I would try my very best to convince you to buy something else! |
