good inexpensive food

My puppy was on Pedigree puppy but after realizing all the crap they put in it... i switched her to Nutro Max b/c they put real chicken and not chicken by product. But ever since she switched... she's pooping like crazy. She used to be able to go 2 or 3 hours after eating. Now its about 10 minutes at the most. And sometimes she'll even poop in the middle of the day when she hasn't even eaten. If i don't take her out right after she eats she poops in the house... she was doing GREAT with house training until this food.

18 bucks for a tiny bag is too much money for me....(aka Blue Buffalo) I need more like 10 bucks.... she's 7 months old so still on puppy food... but that cuts our choices way down... i don't care if its natural... i just don't want to feed her chicken by product stuff that is in every name brand.

Any help?

Did you switch her over slowly? Her tummy may be upset.

If you have a Costco near you, their Kirkland brand is pretty good and inexpensive. Also, Taste of the Wild (an awesome food) costs about $10 for the small bag, I pay $42 for a 30lb bag. (depends where you live though)

I still have yet to see if it really happened. I have never had any issues with my guy on TOTW. But do you eat peanut butter? spinach? eggs? It happens just my 0.02 If youre not making it, growing it, dealing with it, you cant be guaranteed. Its still better than the 1 or 2 star foods

Very true and it seems like (if it indeed ever happened) it was with a certain batch at one time. Like you said, it happens, I got a little freaked out at the headline lol

Wow, I hadn't realized Kirklands was such a good brand... is there somewhere I can see the analysis online... or should I just try to remember to take a look when I'm in Costco again?

I've got a dachshund currently on totw... she loves it. She used to be a terribly finicky eater and would stop eating just about any brand after a month or so, but she's been eating the totw very well *knock on wood*. I'm happy with how she's been doing on it too.

Btw, the Taste of the Wild food doesn't have any "puppy food", but their take on it is that the food is good for the dogs no matter their life stage. They have feeding instructions for puppies through adult dogs on their bags of food I believe.
