Both my dogs eat taste of the wild and do well on it. they have always had normal good poop and no health issues on it (skin allergies, tummy upsets, etc.) but recently Lexi started having dry crumbly poop. shes not straining and still going normaly. but:
1- nothing in their diet has changed, theyre still eating the same
2- she seems to still be drinking the same amount of water as usual, and not dehydrated.
dehydration is the first thing i suspected when this started, but because her drinking was normal, i thought maybe i was wrong. i also thought about fat content being too low and making the poop dry and crumbly, but because the diet has been the same now for over a year and this hasnt been an issue before, i thought that couldnt be it either....
i dont know... i really dont know...
the only thing that has changed was her food was cut back because she became less active and was getting a little too heavy.
im going to try adding water to her food when i serve it (not letting it soak) hoping to get some added water into her.... if this doesnt help, then i will have to try something else.
in the meantime, anyone else have any other ideas?
