| Do they LOVE it? Does anyone have a kibble type dogfood that their dog just loves? Radar really liked the Nutra Natural Choice Lamb and Rice for a bit, now he's turning his nose up at it. My husband keeps saying, don't worry, if he gets hungry enough, he'll eat it, and I'm sure he's right. But I love my dog and I don't want him to have to eat something he doesn't like just to keep from starving to death. I want him to like it.
Oh, and money has to be taken into account too. I can't afford to spend 20.00 on a 5 lb. bag of dogfood, and I'm afraid buying any larger size then that and it will go stale before the dogs can eat it. There's got to be a good tasting dogfood that's affordable out there somewhere.
Thanks for any suggestions! |

| Cleo loves taste of wild high prairie.
Betty, and Missy will eat anything that they can get into their mouths. |

| Pearl (my picky eater) also really like Taste of the Wild. She likes the wetlands and high prairie flavors, but not so much the Pacific stream. My other 3 will eat anything.
I'm not sure if they make a smaller size, but a 15 lbs bag costs about $22. I normally buy one for travel.
If you don't want to switch foods, you could try mixing Radar's kibble with something. You could try grated natural balance food roll, a spoonful of cottage cheese, or even a bit of wet dog food. |

| Thanks guys. I think I'll give TOW a try then when I can get out and get some. We do have a Tractor Supply store about 20 miles away so I'll call and make sure they have it in stock.

| Not sure if you have them in your area, but Tractor supply carries taste of wild. I pay 30+ dollars for the 40 lb bag at my local one. http://www.tractorsupply.com/ |

| Then I'm headed there tomorrow. Dont' know what I'm going to do with the rest of the Nutro 17.5 pound bag of Lamb and Rice. I've probably only used a few pounds of it. Sigh... dogs, gotta love em.
Think I'll take the bag to my local dog shelter and see if they can use it.

| Don't take the current food to the shelter yet! You'll need to gradually switch over to TOW. Put a little bit of the new in with the old food. Gradually increase the amount of new until you're feeding all new. This make take a week or up to a month. Depends on how finicky your baby's tummy is. |

| Sheltiemama,
They ended up totally not eating the old dogfood so I didn't even try mixing it. For three days now they've been eating the TOW, mixed with some canned Pedigree and they are, if not loving it, at least eating it. They won't eat the TOW kibble by itself, but I don't mind mixing with a little canned. It softens it so my nearly toothless old poodle can eat more easily. Fortunatly I've not seemed to have any digestive problems.
Thanks for the warning though. |

Thanks for the warning though. | Did you know that kirkland from costco is made by the same company that makes TOW ( diamond dog food) at a fraction of the cost? Petagree is full of really bad ingredients. I would choose another can food. Look up a site that is called (whats in dog food and you will be surprised what is in the store brands. Petagree is by products and fillers not real food. |

Ethoxuguin was originally a pesticide now used to preserve fish. I asked the company and they said they dont add it to the food but it comes preserved with it. Not a healthy thing to have in our pets food. |
