Canidae, Natural Balance, Wellness Recall

I have heard from many people that say they are reading different code numbers, i personally wouldnt trust anything any of them are saying. I would not feed any of these foods regardless of the production numbers

Distributor States Canidae, Natural Balance, and one Wellness Product Recalled

the thing is they are letting you know about these recalls, but there are so many that we dont hear about and that is why they are called Silent Recalls

Problem: Razor sharp metal tags found in Evangerís dog food. Solution: Silent recall! Poisoned Pets

Per Iams it was a Product Pull

then the vitamins that go into pet foods come from China, so you buy a food that you think will be healthy and safe

I started cooking for my dog several years ago, I did it for his health, and for mine. I could not live with the stress, the worry and the panic of never really knowing

Is there a list anywhere of dog food that only has ingredients made in the USA?

Thanks.

Not as such that I'm aware of (though Truth About Pet Food has a subscription service where supposedly they try to keep track of such things, I've never signed up for it), plus its complicated.

You need to know the country of manufacture (which for this recall IS the USA actually).

You need to know the country (countries) where the ingrediants are sourced from.

AND you may need to ask for the country of origin for the vitamin/mineral mixes as well as apparently companies are allowed to NOT consider these as 'ingrediants'.

Why does it have to be so complicated? Ugh.

Thanks for the info.

Here are a few that do not use ingredients from China. Don't know anything about them, so I'll have to do more research. My husband thinks I'm becoming obsessed and I think he's right!

Fromm
Natura
Acana
Orijen

Acana and Orijen are made in Canada by Champion Pet foods.
They promise nothing from China, and all ingredients from Canada.
