Exclamation Birthday Cake for Human AND Dog Consumption

Does anyone have a recipie for a birthday cake or some kind of treat that is meant for dogs, but humans can eat (and would like to eat) as well??? I want to have a birthday party for my dog, but I don't want to make 2 seperate goodies for humans and dogs. I'd like the dogs to feel like they are getting the 'people's food' while the people know that their dog is getting something that was really made for them, while also being able to shareit too.

PetCo has the treat bins that have the treats that look (and taste) like people cookies. I was thinking of something along those lines, but like a cake instead of cookies. Any help??

Thanks,
Erin

The treat bar cookies from petco are real people cookies they just have lower sugar content, so they're actually not good for dogs. Maybe some sort of diabetic cake recipe? Not really sure.

Cool

REALLY!? I didn't know that! I got paid $1 to try a diet cookie!! HAHAHA!! Wow... the things you do when you're young and dumb. Anyways, it's not like I'm looking for something to give my dog all the time, so just a low sugar cake of some sort perhapes? Or Low fat? Or Low what?

However that is quite helpfull that those cookies are just low sugar people cookies... go to dollar store and buy a whole pack of them for $1 instead of $3 for like 4 of them at PetCo. O.O

Thank you! Hopefully I can get a few more opinions, and see if I can find a good recipe online for low sugar cakes or something! Thanks again!

For my Zeva's birthday I made a doggy cake and I bought the human cake. The doggy cake (which was not really a cake) I made was mostly very easy. At the bottom I put some dry food, then I covered it with cheese and put in oven for a few minutes to melt over the dry food and stick with it, then the next layer was mashed beef (the one you get from the pet store in tins), another then layer of salami, then covered it all with yogurt and at the top I put some biscuits and this is how it came out:

I wasn't wanting to make/buy 2 seperate cakes... The entire point of my post was to avoid 2 seperate cakes. But that did turn out pretty cute.
