Leg warmers

This is going to sound silly, but has anyone ever seen leg warmers for dogs? My dogs have very short hair and love to play in the snow so I worry about the skin on their legs. How do you keep your short haired dogs skin protected in deep snow (for those of you who live in areas with snow)

well... my dog has short hair on his legs and i live in the snow... he doesn't seem to bothered by it tho... i took a doggie cpr class not too long ago and i asked what to worry about, the only real concern that the instructor had was frostbite on the ears... tho they do make doggie booties, maybe they make doggie gators to put on the booties too?

I just checked one of my wholesale sites and didn't see any leg warmers. I DO know they make doggie snowsuits and boots so they'd be covered all over. I don't carry either one or I'd help you out.

Yeah, I thought I might be off my rocker on that one - I have boots, maybe i'll look into a snowsuit. I could just be paranoid but their skin looks awfully red when they come in and they tend to lick at it a lot for the first while after coming inside.

My friend's dog is a St. Bernard (the most beautiful one, ever!) and she wears her owners leg warmers :-P

I've never seen them for dogs, but I am sure you could make some out of kids' socks perhaps...?

That is a beautiful dog. What a great idea to make them out of kids socks - could probably even find kids legwarmers. Thanks!

yeah she has her professionally groomed bi-weekly. She's a stability and balance dog for my friend who was paralyzed for 9 years and has problems walking due to her bones growing awkwardly and surgeries and things- so they get a service dog discount. Phoebe (the STB) is VERY special... love that dog!! <3

She also brushes her a lot and babies her more than my mother babied me!
