This link didn't work for me , thank you all for your help! I will have to look into the mushers secret stuff too! I have been using A&D ointment on her pads. I did find some nice affordable boots online for her....is it bad that my dog will have boots before me? Oops I had to come back and edit because I just now seen the pic of Zoe! She is so adorable in her boots, and such a beauty also!

I got the Mushers Secret from amazon, there are at least three tin sizes so you could get the small one and see if it helps. I did notice they had a ton of booties too but I've never tried any so I can't help with that.

I agree...they dont stay on and for the ones i've bought they've always been to big for the breed guide. Koda's feet dont handle the cold newfoundland weather to well so boots as a must.

If they will fit over your dogs pws I have found rubber balloons work great! I wouldn't recommend them for super long walks but for short ones they seem to work fine. Just cut the super skinny part off, and they fit fine on smallish/medium size dogs paws.

Ya breed guide sizing has never worked for me in anything I have bought, so I just measure everything out now, her paws are 3" . I did find a nice set online that are made for mushers..we are going to try those ones I believe.

This probably wouldn't work for her feet because by the time you cut off the super skinny part to where it wouldn't cut off her circulation, there wouldn't be much to hold it on....but it is a good idea, I never would have thought of that!

*shrugs* They do fall off after a long time, but for short workouts and walks (1hour or less) they work fine.

ZoesMom, Are those Muttlucks? I've always wanted to try them, but our dogs haven't had paw issues in the cold, so I couldn't justify buying them. We have two other kinds but they weren't as spendy.... Do they stay on well?

To the OP, Not to stereotype all hunters, but it's pretty safe to say a lot of the country bird hunters act with a certain toughness about them and expect tough dogs. That said, if even the old timers will put dog boots on their dogs for rough terrain, I'd say, no... boots for your pup aren't ridiculous!
