I always had many different Hunting breeds growing up, but I settled on the hound group in my later years. Once they settle out of the puppy days, they are very loving, loyal, and laid back. I like to call them the surfer dudes of the dog world. They are able to turn play time and sleep time on /off at will. This makes them perfect for my particular career. One day I may work afternoons, the next I may be called in for mornings. They are also very intelligent. Once you get past their stubborn nature, they learn very quickly.

hmm... i had a lot of different types of dogs around when i was a kid... all shapes and sizes... i've always really liked the bully breeds... i had to rule out pits for the time being as it is so difficult to find a rental that will let you have them rotties were a long time favorite too, and i would love a dobie, i've never had any type of hound before, i like the looks of blue ticks, but i'm not picky, and recently i've started looking into sight hounds...i'm thinking a retired greyhound may be in my future... but when i was looking for a dog, i wasn't looking for a specific breed, i was searching rescues for a personality... mellow, social and trainable... my jaw dropped when i read that on clover's write-up with the rescue he was in... i also had some other criteria too, nothing against the little guys, but i live in the snow, and i wanted a partner for outdoor activities, and i wanted one that would be big enough that i wouldn't have to worry so much about the local predators coyotes being on the top of that list, but my friends little dog was being eyed very seriously by an eagle not too long ago not that i let him out to wonder and fend for himself, but i've heard a lot of horror stories of little dogs turning into coyote meals right in front of their owners... clover is bigger then i was looking for (but not really bigger then i actually wanted) and imo he is absolutely gorgeous... and i don't really know for sure what breed he is!
sorry so long... but you did ask about one of my favorite topics
